Wish Louisiana would adopt that law Texas implemented saying if an impaired driver hits and kills somebody, and that person had kids, they have to pick up child support for those kids until they are 18 or whatever.

The problem with Bentley's law is the person should be in jail until after any child alive has already turned 18. However, it is unlikely they will serve more than 10 years.

I knew a girl who killed a man while drunk driving. She only served one year in prison.

If you drive drunk and kill someone, that should be an automatic capital murder charge with the death penalty on the table. He made the willful decision to drink and then drive. The consequences should be draconian.

I disagree. I'm not saying there shouldn't be a prison sentence, but let's refer to the Madison Brooks thread. Everyone agrees she was raped because she was too drunk to give consent.

If we follow your rules, she was perfectly capable of consent just as this guy was perfectly capable of making the decision to park his truck while drunk before killing someone.

Drunk can't think logically or rationally. Unless you can prove he intentionally set out on killing someone capital murder should never be on the table.

No. You're a fricking idiot if you think someone deserves the death penalty for drinking and driving, but walking drunk down a dark street carries no liability? This is a fricking clown world right here.

Neither person is thinking clearly but one should get capital murder? You're retarded.

You equated someone getting drunk and having no way to get home but to drive themselves home
to someone getting drunk and not being able to to defend themselves

I would say you're the fricking idiot

You're saying she was in no shape to give consent. What if she did give consent, it doesn't matter because she was drunk?

Again you double down with full retard. The murderer had 3 priors! The person getting drunk raped doesn’t even fit into this narrative.

How many DUIs you have at the moment? You sound like a serial drunk.

He didn't murder anyone. Murder is intent. I don't care if he had 10 DUIs, unless you can prove he intentionally wanted to kill anyone , there is no murder.

You sound like a serial dumbass.

I'm saying that drunk or not a victim is a victim and a perpetrator is a perpetrator and quit trying to equate the responsibility of both of them just because they were drunk
and you're ignoring the drunk drivers history of committing the same offense over and over again and that does indicate a habit which you can't form a habit without consent

What’s amazing (and sad) is how these drunk drivers that cause horrific vehicular crashes somehow (frequently) escape these deadly accidents unscathed.

Because they aren't fighting anything. Their bodies are just moving with the flow instead of reacting and fighting it.

He's a Serial drunk driver I'm not the one making the argument that he should be charged with the capital crime

I'm pointing out that you're a fricking moron for equating the responsibility of a young lady that just went out and drank too much and ended up raped and dead to a guy that has multiple drunk driving offensives

you're the one trying to claim that are equally responsible for their outcomes

He drove drunk. That’s intent. You obviously ignored the fact he CHOSE to turn the key on.

A pity you weren’t on the receiving end of his weapon. Please though continue showing how weak minded you are.

What's the story on this?

She had 3? prior DUIs and was driving on the Causeway.

I think she rear ended someone and it caused him to kinda go airborne and he ended up being impaled by the guardrail.

She was sentenced to 20 years in jail.
