I don't see how anyone can say we are not in decline. It's very obvious everywhere you look. Morally, ethically, socially, and spiritually.

Because people are actively trying to rip up and demonize every single aspect of society that made America what it is today but offer absolutely nothing, nothing at all to replace what our country has thrived on.

Instead these social-engineers want to just say everything is right and everything is good, and the truth is whatever you want it to be.

Aka NIHILISM.

I thought the same at first but it's true. Consider that in addition to children born out of wedlock, an additional 50% originally born to a married couple could be raised by a single mother after a divorce.

No, but it seems to me like you’re advocating government control of wages to me. Sounds a bit like something a communist would want.

I think we lost some of our bourgeoisie qualities because we lost a huge number of jobs that create them. We skipped a few gears and shifted hard into a heavily service based and innovation driven economy. Some of the middle class figured shite out and moved forward, and others did not.

The OP focuses on family values, but the root of the problems are mostly economic. Why do people split? Finances are a leading cause, which goes back to the economic argument.

Yeah, but innovation breeds new opportunities for wealth creation and economic mobility does it not?

The piece wasn’t arguing why people split, but that they split at all.

I read it all. Good article.

Must be short attention spans on here.

This is similar to the zero talent meme. Follow the soft skills and they will lead you to success.

no i'm advocating for not allowing corporations to exploit american workers. illegal immigration, HB1 visas, and a host of other loopholes i probably don't even know about allow them to keep doing so.

like i said, companies are turning record profits, and relatively speaking we're being paid substantially less for being more productive than our parents and grandparents were.

It does, but the world has become more competitive too. In the period following WW2, the US had a significant competitive advantage over much of the first world. We didn't get torn to shreds by the war, for one. So yeah, there are opportunities but it's much harder for the bourgeoisie than it used to be - it's more expensive to get educated, there's more overseas competition, etc

I gotcha, not trying to be argumentative, just didn’t see what you were getting at.
