There were 2 sides and no one knew what the correct one was in March. It was a pure guess, and he guessed correctly.
He was though, 100% within his God and country given rights to practice his religion as he saw fit. That I never disagreed with. There's also other ways to go about it than asking on video for your parishioner's stimulus checks.

No he was not, man I hate when people look at history through a modern lens. This is the same thing people are doing to Troy Middleton. At the time Spell was doing all his showboating, asking people for their stimulus checks and trying to run over protesters with a bus, we did not know what we know now about COVID-19. We know significantly more about the risk and transmission of 19 today than we did back in March. He was not being a noble, he was a greedy, irresponsible bad pastor at the time. Because he did what he did and the way he did it, now his message does not carry as much weight.

Even if you hate the dude, you have to admit that the moment the protests were allowed to happen it was all a crock of shite.

Not sure how he was right, he was doing it for attention. He didnt believe what he was saying, which was obvious by him keeping his own dad from coming to his services

Had his church been a congregation of 48, nobody would care.

Have you noticed that our legislators have remained for the most part silent and unwilling to face any unscripted criticism throughout all of this? Party affiliation does not matter.

Oh.....and Spell is a nut job semi charlatan, but he is right.

This.

The deflection crew is trying to spin this into something it isn’t.

The right to assemble should apply to a church (no matter how nuts the preacher is).

Walmart getting a pass while a church gets shut down, and morons defending that decision, lacks any logical basis. The virus doesn’t give a shite where you gather. These are typically the same posters that fear graduations, weddings, and funerals (excluding St. George of course), but defend BLM / ANTIFA protests. ILLOGICAL.

The war against the freedom of Religion is real and has to be stopped.

I don't give two shits on your opinions of religion, but it is a right of this Country.

Never ceases to amaze me how younger people are so eager to give up their rights.

Nothing against Walmart (even though I consider them a giant evil) or Home Depot, Lowes, etc...

But lets be real, the stupid protest spread more virus than any Church did.

A lot of "but walmart" but I'm unaware of the people nowadays having groceries to last two months.

Lowes is a better example but still, maintenance has to happen.

Jesus was pretty clear you didn't need a church or a preacher though.

As far as the difference between the situations. Walmart at least did try to make a setup to lessen the spread. What was Spell doing other than being pissed he couldn't fleece the flock?

Take care of your fellow man. It's what Jesus would do.
