Never been to south Louisiana; like Morgan City, Houma, Grand Isle, Abbeville, Cameron, etc.

I've only passed through Lafayette and Lake Charles a few times going to/from Houston. Been to Alexandria only a couple of times; anything further north of that I've only passed through going to Arkansas once.

I've seen more of other states than I have I've my own.

As a farmer, shrimper, lawyer, and telephone man in various parts of my life, I've seen more of this state than the average gubernatorial candidate. The only area I haven't canvassed extensively is the area north of Deridder--although I have driven through the region a few times.

I'd like to visit a few places.

PilotTown

Avery island

Deep in the Atchafalaya Swamp

Around Henderson to go check out the houseboat communities

Would love to go explore more old abandoned towns and old cemeteries

When I moved to New Orleans from North Louisiana after college I was shocked by how many people from the New Orleans area had never been to North Louisiana or even north of Baton Rouge in the state. It really does feel like 2 different states.

I haven't been to the central east part of the state. And while I have been through Lake Charles quite a few times, I have only really just stopped off there to grab something to eat.. So I haven't really gone and spent some time there.

Never been to Jennings, Crowley, Abbeville, Thibodaux, Kentwood, and New Roads to name a few. I have been to just about everywhere else in the state. Helps when you play four years of Louisiana high school baseball and basketball with long schedules.

I remember when I was at LSU in the '80s I met a guy from Shreveport. It was like meeting someone from British Columbia. An exotic, far off place I never thought about.

I've never set foot anywhere north of St. Francisville

I drove to Dallas once, so I've been through Alex and Shreveport, but didn't stop.

I remember absolutely nothing about Shreveport. All I recall about Alex (this was 15 years ago) was a huge highway cloverleaf South (I think) of town that had been built -- but there was nothing else there. No gas stations, fast food places, nothing. It was like some post-apocalyptic movie.

As kid I went to Morgan City -- or as it was known in those days, The Great Dragonfly Breeding Ground. Went to Thibodaux once in college.

Never been to Houma, probably the most notable place in S La i've never been.
