Yeah, can't control why she was out of town. She has been pimping the Amendment 4 pretty hard so I figured a last day push would be on her agenda.
She will be roasted by her critics even if it is just poor timing out of her control. Pathetic.

Oh, gee, I'm glad they've got their priorities in order.
Whoever wrote that is an arse.

My priest try to go to the property up the street to counsel and pray. Nofd stopped him for good reason. This is going to mess that area up for a while.
God speed to all involved.
Obligatory, Latoya sucks.

I could have sworn Woolworth was at Canal and Royal.
The collapsed building today was built on a lot once occupied by an F.W. Woolworths that had a lunch counter sit-in back in 1960.
There were several Woolworths in N.O. back then and I can remember one on Magazine St. between General Pershing and Napoleon on the River side of the street. One of my aunts lived in the 4200 block of Magazine and it was the next block up, across the street from a Winn-Dixie store and a police station.

I think there was one in the Carrollton Shopping Center around South Carrollton and Palmetto. Had an A&G Cafeteria too I think.
Late ‘60s?

It’s a wordy version of “it wasn’t me... it was that guy!”

Other than contracting with every entity involved down the line.
That’s not gonna fly to avoid getting dragged into the lawsuits.

Basically it's:
"NOT OUR FAULT, NOTHING TO SEE HERE. Thinking about the people effected tho."

what?
they would have been the operator, under contract to the owners.
they’d have had nothing at all to do with construction of the facility other than providing interior design standard finishes guidance

Just got caught up in this thread.
What caught my eye is that at 0:00 in the video theres already dust on the far side of the video. Whatever happened, it was before the video started rolling.
Agree with the progressive collapse starting at the top floor.
If I had to guess it could be a shoring/re-shoring related incident either due to some failed steel column/beam connection or a lift accident.
At least up here a lot of shoring/reshoring contractors love to push the envelop in terms of concrete slab curing over the corrugated steel because time is literally money to them.

I agree with you, but I imagine their decision to use Citadel as a contractor puts some liability on them.
As well as having deep pockets.
