I understand his mom is a piece of garbage and you want to go easy, but if you didn't immediately take his phone and dare him to try, then you're not much of a parent.

Oh Lawd Jesus!

If I had said that to my old man, I can't even begin to fathom the fire and fury that would have rained down upon my poor soul.

I'm the mom of a 6th grade boy, if my son would have said "then we will fight" I can honestly say I would have beat his arse. My husband would have had round 2

FWIW my kid doesn't have a phone. He has a Xbox and we have had to take it away once for not doing his homework. Hasn't happened again.

Get this under control now! It will only get worse and the best advice I can give you is to stay calm and show him you're boss. If he wins one time he knows he is in control.

My son knows if any punks at school mess with him or anyone smaller (my son is a big kid) he has free reign to whip arse. Rule in our house is never start a fight but you have permission to finish one. If your kid messes with the wrong person he's going to be in a world of hurt. Get it handled now

Guess I need to seek professional help, not sure I want to beat his arse when I'm about all he has.

Ohhhhhh. You're that guy. shite I forgot about your situation. Yea get that boy and you some counseling one on one and a few sessions together.

Most insurance covers 5-6 sessions a year for free or co-pay.

Uh no.

No sir.

That's when you get serious, take that shite away, and chinese water torture that kid. You can't threaten to fight your parent.

Yep, this is most likely the problem.

I lived with my dad and didn't have much of a relationship with my mom as a kid. I basically grew up in a bachelor pad. I got in a fair amount of trouble as a kid but I eventually grew out of it.

My dad wouldn't have let me talk to him like that but he wouldn't have punched me in the face or anything.

What the frick is going on, I've had five calls from the school this year and one certified letter. (6th grade). Acting up, disrespecting teachers, fighting, standing on the lunch table. etc etc etc

Before the advent of school counselors, pediatric shrinks and ADD meds, this was called "normal adolescent behavior" and was addressed by a swift kick in the arse, along with grounding and taking shite away.

That’s pretty normal for a 2 year old
My 2.5 year old baby girl does it and her mom thinks she’s bad she will also take off her panties and diaper before climbing to reach the sink and wash her hands and face

Children are naturally inquisitive and energetic, embrace bc you’re gonna miss it when they are older.

As long as he’s not smearing poop on he’s fine. I’d recommend gymnastics

I was about 12-13 at the time and got in a real fist fight with one of my dads hunting buddies at the camp. I got my arse kicked but he didn’t knock me out much less down.

These days I’d choke that old man out

Sorry Bro. Whether you beat his arse or take his phone, some limits need to be set. Professional help is needed to make sure he doesn't try to see himself as an adult. Make sure YOU are the adult. He's probably pissed at you and his mom. May not make sense but he probably is. Hang in there.

You need to take away his video game AND bust his arse real hard.

You gotta keep ratcheting up the punishment until they capitulate.
