Two other adults in the car stole as well. One had outstanding warrants, and another male fleed the scene as cops arrived at the store. The adults committed numerous crimes before dragging their kids out of the car between them and the officers.

Let’s say the cops lower their guns and parents still refuse to comply, then what should the officers do? Get physical and risk harming the kids?

I mean, there are ways to de-escalate without getting violent. The perps clearly weren't going anywhere.
You would have been ok if the cops had shot them for not getting out of the car?

Your asking if I think someone intentionally holding an innocent child hostage should be shot? If there is a completely clean and safe shot not endangering anyone else sure I do.

The situation you described would absolutely be a hostage situation. The situation that did occur is child endangerment at the least. I do not believe anyone should have been shot nor do I believe those officers had their fingers anywhere near their triggers aiming at a child. However, the presence of the guns certainly seemed to deescalate the parents resisting and endangering their children.

The situation I described is the situation that happened.
They aimed their weapons at an area that contained a child. It doesn't matter if they had their fingers on the triggers. Hell, they verbally threatened to shoot.

I never said we should be soft on crime. I only think that everyone deserves due process, because it’s a cornerstone of our country. It’s real scary that your fine with a high school drop out making 34k a year having the power to be the judge jury and executioner without facing any consequences. Then again you are a poli board regular so I suppose arguing is pointless. Let me just say this: if Obama passed what you’re suggesting as president, would you still be ok with it?

You asked about if they refused to get out of the car with the children still inside. The situation that did occur they got out of the car eventually but not until a gun was pointed at them and their kids.

Yeah everyone should take part in your big government indoctrination camps to be a hero in blue huh?
But that's one thing you're right about: cops shouldn't be making 34k a year. They should at least be starting at 100k or so. Consider it a perk of going to work every day and not knowing if you'll make it home.
And yes arguing with me is pointless because I'm a real patriot who loves our boys in blue. You won't ever see me getting shot by a cop because I'm not a criminal and I do as I'm told when I'm told as soon as I'm told. If a cop tells me to put my hands up you're darn-tootin I'm putting my hands up. If tells me to jump, I jump.
