The HS football program is locally part of the city football league, not sponsored by the schools. They have an incredible travel budget.

All has to be raised outside the School budget.

That’s unique…most every school has a program down here, private and public play together though.

In 2015, the travel budget for one football team alone was 150k. They have to fly 600 miles minimum for all away games.

Sports are very expensive due to the required travel.

We talking straight up donations or fundraising with an incentive to win something?? My daughters dance company typically does Jambalaya dinners or raffles.. with a large percentage of the proceeds going to her bill I'm selling what i can.. But I won't straight up donate money for absolutely nothing in return to some rando's travel ball team..

My complaint is with the parents doing fundraisers for Travel Ball. No point to that. I don’t mind the ones for local leagues or camps like Boy Scouts.

Kids love it. Play sports all year, travel out of town often.

It’s an important lesson in personal responsibility.

The stupid shite with the GS cookies is that troop doesn’t get squat unless they sell thousands of boxes - mom/dad sort of has to help with that
