Parent poll: how many of you with kids in daycare are getting a financial break?

How are you getting fricked? Did you not read your contact?

The answer is yes both ways. Daycare is a fricking racket, but it’s also a necessity. And you also get a pretty good credit (?) on your taxes.

Daycare has always been a scam. They are the only service provider that makes you pay even if you aren’t receiving a service. My kids daycare said they would remain open for the next 4 weeks but would charge an extra $50/week for more precautions needed. I told them to get F’ed

Tax credit for daycare?!? Unless you make almost nothing it’s a very minimal tax break.

My toddler attends a relatively affordable daycare ($200/wk) which works out to less than $5/hr. They take good care of him, socialize him, and develop him. That’s a hell of a deal for that price. Those ladies who run that place everyday don’t get paid enough. I want to shoot myself after spending just one day watching my two toddler nephews with my son.
