No doubt they are probably having trouble hiring like most companies, but I don't believe the part quoted above is accurate.

All fundraising that has been done has been for capital improvements. They did get in a bit of a crunch during covid. They were not eligible for PPP because they are a quasi-government entity and not a non-profit (and also too large by PPP standards). But they have since rebounded and paid back all the bonds they had issued before covid.

They had a GoFundMe during that time that got pushed nationally. There was a thread here about it and people here donated to it. They stated they had to have a certain amount of money just to stay open.

Doesn’t seem like a sufficient background review was done for someone who’s gonna be working with kids.

BTW, space camp sucks. My kids' school used to go every year, but we never went.

Your not ever going is a good basis for opinion.

Space camp is amazing if the kids like that sort of thing. I’ve been a couple times and then several times more to just visit the facility with my kids.

there seems to be more and more pushback happening.

I can assure you if this freak was assigned to kids on my watch, we’d be at a hotel that night if space camp didn’t make accommodations.

Last time we went to space camp, we didn’t even stay on site anyway. We stayed at a hotel with an indoor pool.

I know folks who work there and were furloughed during covid. The entire Space and Rocket Center came within a hair’s breadth of closing down for good. Gifts from space and defense contractors pulled them out of the fire. That kind of thing won’t happen again.

I don't want any trans next to my sleeping kids. Or unattended near my kids...

Also, isn't it like 10k to send your kids there?

Gender bullshite aside, if I pay to send my kids to Space Camp, I’m expecting more than counselors from fricking Lawson State.

No - they have scout/school programs that are one night type things. It used to be a couple hundred dollars, but looks like it’s now almost $500. Space Camp itself is less than $2k.
