Didn't they recently shut down a paper mill near Zachary that made TP? I wonder if they fired that bad boy back up again?

Yea They shut down the fine paper unit(copy paper). That was long overdue. But TP and Towel production is full steam ahead.

They assumed. Looks like they don’t make butt wipe.

The mill makes specialty papers used for label and converting, flexible packaging and technical paper applications; packaging papers, including kraft linerboard used for the outer and inner layers of corrugated boxes; and other kraft papers with end uses such as grocery sacks, shopping bags and fast food bags.

Not a toilet paper mill. They make specialty printing/writing paper. Blew up both of the continuous digesters and wiped out most all of the auxiliary washing equipment and blow tanks. Scary shite and a good reminder of hazards associated with industrial processes that we take for granted when you work around it daily.

Drone video embedded in link is pretty remarkable at the destruction.
Pre aerial photo prior to incident
Post drone flyover

Just takes one person to visit Taco Bell at lunchtime..

Looks to be in the wood yard area and not the main paper machines which means shite paper will still be rolling on until they run out of stock
Ok saws the pictures, yea shite paper is shut down for the foreseeable future. IP in Pensacola blew up
A digester two or three years ago and that mill was down for an extended period of time.

My hope is that the mill has people with good process heads on their shoulders. There is a lot of alkali on the ground directly adjacent to significant volumes of sulfuric acid and other reactive chemicals with cooking liquor. Hopefully they've mitigated any and all potential mixing scenarios to prevent a large H2S release. By grace of God, no one has been significantly injured or killed in this incident.
