Pain/Sensativity on the top of my big toe

I have sensitivity and pain (nothing terrible) on the top of one of my big toes. I noticed it last night when I got in bed. What the hell could this possibly be?
As mentioned before, it is nothing excruciating. More annoying than anything. The skin doesn't appear to be red or rubbed raw or anything like that.

Capsulitis if it's not bad. Gout if it's bad.

Toe AIDS

Not like pins and needles, right? I assume you're not diabetic?

Could it be from a plant?
I've had a reaction to some sort of weed (stinging nettles we thing) touching my foot through sandals that was extremely noticeable at night when it rubbed on the sheets (but no redness or swelling). It went away in a day or so and topical benadryl helped.

No, not like pins and needles. Imagine gently rubbing sandpaper over the top of the big toe.

This wouldn't happen if it was legal and quality controlled.

Is it swollen? Redness? Could be Gout and it gets way worse

Multiple things:
Sharp pain and possible throbbing? Gout and/or ingrown toenail (if on edges).
Pins/needles almost like numbness? Neuropathy.

When I had my first gout attack, it bypassed the oh this seems uncomfortable phase and went straight to I am going to jab this hot ice pick into your toe joint mother fricker level. If it was gout I think he would be feeling something different than a mild discomfort. When mine flared up I didn't even want to have the sheet touching my foot
