So I started X3 a couple weeks ago... been working out everyday except Sundays. I've lost maybe a grand total of 1 pound.. For diet I've cut out soda and sugary foods.. Been trying to stick to grilled chick and salad , etc.. What gives??? Do I need to double up? Though I've seen some visible changes in my arms and chest feels a little bigger and stronger. I'm not seeing the massive and immediate drop in pounds like I got with regular p90x

Love Body Beast. I got it last year and will be doing it again after X3. Yes you need free weights. I bought a set of Powerblocks off craigslist and they are awesome and will last a lifetime. I will probably rotate between body beast and X3 until something new comes out. I see that the Charlene girl is coming out with a new workout soon. I'm hoping Body beast 2 comes out this year.

Gotcha.. It's just weird.. with p90x I dropped 10 pounds right away.. like within 3 weeks time. by the end I dropped 25 overall and was between 178-180 and muscle definition everywhere.. I'm gonna stick it out b/c the wife and I have a beach trip planned with a bunch a my couples friends and I'll be damned if i'm the fluffy bastard this go around

I'm worried the same will happen to me. Started P90X3 Monday and I'm following the diet pretty good besides the snacking, I skip snacks. I'm worried I won't loose weight, but we shall see. FYI, I'm 6'1" 215lbs.

What's your height and weight, SFP?

Do you know how many calories you're eating per day? Do you have something to take for postworkout?

i'm no Dr, lol. that was more optimism/support.
i'm doing this for health more than body buiding, anyway. same as eating right and quitting smoking.
if i don't lose weight or really transform my body, but my stamina/strength increases and my heart rate/BP gets more in line with health, then that will be good enough
i know i have at least 6 months before any real body transformation can occur for me. just in time for football season

How much weight you trying to lose?

I have a question about pull-ups. I use the doorway bar, but at 6'4" I have a difficult time (a) executing the pull-ups, and (b) using the best technique. I am a week into p90x3 (did the lean program of p90x 2 years ago) and I suck at pull-ups.
Should I buy the bands or stick with the current pull-up bar? At 235 lbs, sometimes I think the door frame is coming down!

The bands work great, imo. Just learn how to get the Sawyer Stance right.
I can see how it could be a problem for you. I'm only 5'11" and I have to sometimes tuck in my knees or put a leg forward so I won't touch the ground.

Damn I see there's a lot of questions I have to answer in here now.
I'll get to them when I have a minute at a computer. In the meantime, those that need nutrition help or weight loss help post your age height and weight. Also if you're following the accompanying nutrition plan with your program. Remember, these nutrition plans are designed to work with the program so they're the way to get optimum results.

I'd look into a recovery drink. Your body loses a lot of things during the workout. Drink the recovery drink and don't eat anything for at least 45 minutes. I personally like the P90X Results and Recovery Formula because it tastes awesome and it has helped me a lot. But, I really don't know much about the other products out there.

25 would be optimal for me. I lost 20 with p90x1

Are there any websites that offer meal and recipe ideas? I can't seem to find much.
