MMX today. Definitely one of my favorite workouts on the cardio side of things.

Today is a Recovery/Mobility Day in X2. I'm going to do Pilates X, tho.
Posted on 3/31/15 at 6:45 pm to SabiDojo
Just seeing the word pilates makes me want to run the other direction. The forced breathing makes me feel like I'm going to hyperventilate and I then can't concentrate on the workout or my breathing.

It's the hardest part of the workout. Thinking about breathing? It's so counterintuitive.
And, as much as I love the DVD , Tony does not do a good job explaining the proper breathing for each move.

Came down with strep throat last night, so I'm gonna take a week off to recover from this shite.
I'm so sore/achy, feels like the first few days of starting P90X. Sucks.

Yeah, dude. Just rest and let your body heal itself. Get better soon.

Need some advice, going tent camping next week Monday-Thursday and won't be able to do the program. I was thinking of doing some morning beach runs and bringing one set of Dumbbells where I can use for a variety of exercises. Any good YouTube workouts I could do?

Wife and I are restarting P90x3 again. Many things came up, being sick, the baby being sick, etc...
We were in about week 2 of phase 2 when we stopped working out.
Wife wants to do the p90x3 lean. I've only done classic on P90x3 and p90x. I've looked at the workouts, and there aren't as many routines involving pullups with the lean routine. I'm sure i'll still gain muscle doing the lean, but i'm just wondering the big difference between the 2 phases. I know lean is more cardio driven. Your thoughts?

Oh snap. Yeah, maybe just take the week off. Go for a run and enjoy yourself. Sounds like you'll be active enough.

The Lean Schedule doesn't look very promising, imo. I would stick to Classic. Especially for guys, you want to use heavy dumbells, do pullups, do pushups, etc. That's what makes you studly.
I haven't done lean, but I imagine it's like T-25. I did T-25, and while it is a good program, I got a little too lean.

Started second week of T25 today. Alpha Cardio was done this morning. Already feeling tighter, more energetic, etc.
Drank and ate a lot this weekend. Back to healthy eating today.

Today is day one of T25. Starting after work. Did one month of insanity 2-3 years ago and helped, and have done about 1 week of T25. This time I have to be serious. Got to be in shape for the future wife in 2 1/2 months and the honeymoon ;-) 5'10" and about at 180 now, need to get back down to 170. Hoping between her and here I can keep myself motivated.

Diet related question. I have a really good diet so I'm not worried about what I eat necessarily. I know you're "supposed" to take in about 1g of protein per pound of body weight, yes? A typical day for me, between Breakfast/lunch/dinner, a morning snack, afternoon snack, late snack, and protein shake still has me coming well under that number.
What the hell else should I do? Maybe have 2 protein shakes a day instead of just 1? Throw some more meat into my lunch/dinner?

I think it's 1 gram of protein per 1 to 1.5 pounds of lean muscle mass, not overall weight. I could be wrong, tho.
Either way, you could have an extra shake, more meat, or maybe even a pbnj sammich.
Also, eating monounsaturated fats will help with protein synthesis.
It's really up to you, tho.

Any body have advice on how to reintegrate into the program? Took a week off now as want to get back started. Was in week 2 of Block 3 on doubles.
Should I take a slow week like recovery week and then start Block 3 over? Just jump in right where I left off, but perhaps just take it easy? Starting was the hardest part, now having to restart into doubles seems daunting.

Just jump right back in and take it easy the first few days. You'll be fine.

Advice to this question is in Beachbody blog, IIRC they suggested doing a recovery week then continue with whatever week would normally come up. I'm off a week vacationing on beach, I brought resistance bands and set of Dumbbells; I found some free Tony Horton YouTube workouts I will try. I'm simply gonna jump back in to the third week of phase three when I get back.
I've lost twenty pounds since I started and went from 36 pants to 33. My arms are bigger and so are calves and legs more defined. Ive significantly altered my diet, tons of fruits and veggies. I'm cooking nearly everything and avoiding processed food. The biggest difference is not drinking though. I went from having a couple beers a night and/or some bourbon to hardly drinking at all. The reasons are two fold. One is that I'm much happier and less stressed since working out. Secondly, after a grueling afternoon workout, protein shake and healthy meal I feel like I'd be ruining all my effort by drinking. With that said it'll be hard to continue my new abstemious lifestyle come football season.

Started t25 beta today. Felt like my calves were going to burst. Definitely harder than alpha

I've only done t25 cardio once when I subbed it for agility x. It was intense, I had to follow Tanya most of the time. It took a couple days for my calves to recover.

I'm on week 12 of p90x right now. I'll be out of town most of next week so I probably won't do anything and just use that for rest, then the following week I'm starting x3. I bought the discs from some lady on craigslist, but I don't really know what to expect.
Can anyone give me a hint of what I'm in for? I love that the workouts are shorter since I work out first thing in the morning. Overall is it more intense? Is it a good mixup of exercises or is there a lot of carryover from p90x? Also, I don't really do the exact p90x schedule, I typically don't do the "lesser" workouts like kenpo, stretch, yoga. I do the resistance days on M/W/F, usually throw in core synergistics on either Tu or Thr, then either do treadmill or rest the other days. Are there any discs on x3 that are similar that I (personally, according to what I said above) would probably skip?
