I assume once I return to work I will be required to wear one as I will be around hundreds of people on a daily basis. Until that day, as long as I spend 90% of my time at home, these government officials can kiss my arse. They are much more of a threat to me than vice versa.

Impossible to virtue signal without a mask on. Same reason Hybrids all make sure every square inch of the car says hybrid. They want you to know they are better than you.
The people wearing cheap masks as they shop around town at various stores are the same people who change their profile picture on Facebook in support of a cause and think that’s helping. They only care about virtue signaling

Disagree but at times I do feel bad about it. Still won’t wear it. Unless I have to for work.

Sat down for lunch last Friday in Clinton, MS. The girl taking my order had a mask on "correctly", the other girl (who gave me a drink refill) had one covering her mouth only and the manager walking around didn't have one; neither did the cooks in the back. I wasn't wearing one and no one said anything about it.

Oxford is a great college town however it’s getting way too liberal.
This mayor has realllly flexed her muscles with this Covid... she’s made Oxford way more strict than 99% of MS entirely.
It’s insane

I should mention I had one to go into the dorm this weekend to move our kid out. Only had it on when the security guard could see me as they were telling people to put them on.
When I walked into the hotel, I didn’t have one on. Sign was up and I just didn’t put it on. Hotel clerk when I checked in and out didn’t say a word about it. They were very pleasant. I did get a look or two from other guests .. but maybe I imagined it OR maybe they thought “man I shouldn’t have worried about mine”.
ETA I saw the order is now “indefinitely”. WTH??
Edit again to say she definitely looks like a Karen.

She’s living in a bubble or something. It’s obviously saying you’re ‘not a sheep’. We established that at Costco.

Sometimes I do care about others I don’t know and sometimes I don’t. Depends on my perception of them and their interactions with me.
But I don’t wear a mask. It’s actually less about them and more about me and the choices I make.
All of this

As city leaders, we know we have asked a lot of our community. Restrictions on small businesses and requiring masks have caused more than simple inconveniences, they have caused significant changes in lifestyle. We are not able to do things as easily and carelessly as we previously have. The citizens of Oxford have stepped up to meet the challenge. They have embraced these requirements and demonstrated that not only do they understand the importance, but they care about their fellow citizens. The future of our community depends on everyone playing their part and taking responsibility.
This is an excerpt from a locaL article published 2 days ago it looks like ... but yeah she’s all about let’s sacrifice some now so we can have football and students in the fall... except frick the local residents and small businesses who have to close or drastically reduce their revenue..
