Having an outdoor wedding in the summer in Louisiana is just as rude as a destination wedding.

I love destination weddings

They're more fun

And easier to decline

Yep, my own son had one in BR last July at 4 in the afternoon. I got a new searsucker out of the deal, but the jacket and tie came off as soon as photos were done. Summer weddings should have A/C damnit!

My brother got married in NOLA in September in the courtyard of the Maison Dupuy. It got in the 90's that day. I wrecked my tuxedo rental sweating.

It was a fun wedding weekend but the wedding and reception sucked.

Had one a couple weeks ago that I stood in. We all looked like walking sweat stains going down the aisle.

Nope.

I will send a card. I don't do these as a rule, the same way I don't snort meth or buy whole life insurance. Just WTF.

A couple of years ago I was invited to a wedding outdoors in swamp territory. Miserable as all hell.

I simply don't trust people who can wear multiple layers in direct sunlight on a breezeless, 80+ degree day and not sweat. It's not normal, and it's rude to assume that I am capable of such a feat.

Doesn't have to be direct sunlight for me if 50%+ humidity is involved.

It may be 15 yrs from now but eventually you'll be 15 lbs overweight, balding with a woman you've already had sex with 1500 times and you'll have undefeated LSU vs undefeated Georgia on 11/4 for all of the marbles and you'll be sipping shitty rum and coke on some Mexican beach and refreshing Twitter every 8 seconds

I made an agreement when I got hitched that I'm not going to weddings or kids birthday parties or any other stupid shite.

The first one she tried was a couples shower on me. I laughed and headed for Venice for Teal season. I laughed as I headed out the door.

I got married in 08 and went to my sisters delayed shotgun wedding a few years ago but other than that I'm done with weddings. I will do my best friends kids birthdays if invited because all we do is drink.

Edit: FML I've got 3 siblings who are not married.

Years ago on my wedding day my ex didn't even bother showing up. I stood there in front of a crowd of people sweating my balls off while my ex was probably frickig some other dude. The most embarrassing day of my life.

the type of bride who insists on an outdoor southern July/August wedding (over everyone's objections) is the type of bride who will bitch when everyone is sweaty and dragging arse during pictures.
My sister-in-law chose the Saturday between Christmas and New Years because, and I quote her here, "I don't want to sweat in my dress."

That was just about the last good decision they made.

Mrs. future Rogue wanted an outdoor wedding so I told her no summer and I'll have to look at lsu schedule. I chose the Florida game bc it'll be away and most likely a day game (I'm hoping). We have two huge tints with ac in case it rains. Heat shouldn't be an issue I don't think.

have weddings I have to attend during the Florida and Arkansas games this year

Have cousin getting married in Nola day of the Bama game. When they told the family the wedding date at this past Thanksgiving me and my dad immediately started laughing.

We've been planning this trip for 3 years. And the cousin is trash af so I'm sure the wedding will be a shite show...

I'd rather drag my nuts through a fire ant hill than cancel a Bama away trip for a wedding.

My mom didn't even question us.

Eta: we've been planning this trip since before said cousin was even dating old boy. Just realized this.

I'll admit against my better judgement. My wedding is outside in a month. But, it is northern KS so its not as hot or humid as the south. Not making anyone wear suits and it's only going to be 10 minutes long.
