I hate advertising. I hate the injury mills.
i've been thinking about ways to use the market to combat them. they're invading LC and i think a campaign of "Buy local" may work
i've also pondered advertising a sub-33% rate to undercut the mills. i'm sure their margins are tiny and a 10% reduction in recovery could really hurt

I thought you only liked to talk about the kicking game (super ghey) and scuba diving.

Yeah, and the insurance companies, government agencies, and businesses wouldn't screw over people if sleazy personal injury lawyers went away.

Eaux's Binder...sounds like I may have said or done something that has offended you, dude. Not sure what it is, but my apologies, man. It's all good.

I'm in the middle of a case right now that is an absolute abortion. Set to go to trial in September (hopefully). When it's over I'll tell the war story. The actions of the opposing attorneys are nothing short of dispicable.

Well then frick you too

that does happen on occasion but is largely a myth by plaintiff attorneys. advertising attys are law grads but what they practice it is not really law. they hire chiropractors to fudge the injury and generally work the system. the system is complicit.

Just don't be a hypocrite with no he self promotion

Tort reform has pretty much killed tort law. It's next to impossible to get even get compensatory damages equal to what you actually suffered here in MS.
I hate the guys that hire people to ride up and down highways looking for wrecks when thats what insurance is for, but I have no problem with the person that has a family member killed or themselves injured by a drunk driver or something like that getting a huge award.

Now that's a blast from the past, Lowel the hammer Stanley. I remember him from my Navy days stationed in VA beach. There was a very colorful line up of ambulance chasers in Norfolk area in the 90's

Based on your posts, one would think every Plaintiff's lawyer puts his name on a billboard. Most of us don't. In fact, over 90% of us don't, but you act as if everybody who practices tort law acts like the buffoons who put their faces on billboards.
I was talking to an excellent p.i. lawyer last week (who does not advertise) who had two offices but had to close his rural office when the "billboard lawyers" came to town.
I had a nice p.i. case to refer (I don't do p.i. work). However, someone got to her and she ended up with one of the billboard law firms.

The personal injury lawyers who don't flood the market with billboards should get together in a cooperative campaign to "buy local" and to try to educate the public.
ETA: Or get the non-p.i. lawyers to be in ads informing the public that there are plenty of good p.i. lawyers in the local market. Educate the public about case runners.

Yeah. Remember Mike Fosters "tort reform" that was going to save us money on auto insurance. Bul shite from a bunch of hypocrites. Lawyers and insurance companies are both to blame.

How is a lawyer a libertarian? I thought libertarianism was "What you do is your business. What I do is mine."
Being a lawyer is nothing but getting involved in the lives of others, no?
