Pretty worthless when they are so understaffed that their ER has to go on divert.

But hey...congrats OLOL.

For the whole system. Find a hospital system that big that isnt in the red right now.

As the city’s top ranked U.S. News & World Report hospital,
—-not a heck of a lot of competition

I heard they closed much of it off. Anyone know?

From their website:

Our Lady of the Lake is Louisiana’s largest acute care provider with more than 1,000 licensed beds in its Regional Medical Center

Granted I'm sure they are closing off and refurbishing different parts of it constantly.

I don't like how they handled the Mary Bird Perkins fiasco, but it's forced OLOL to expand again with a new cancer center.

Yeah the only other hospital definitely in the city is BR General on Florida Blvd.

Pretty sure BR General Bluebonnet is in St. George, but I could be wrong. Oschner on O'Neal I think is also outside the city limits too.

Try and find any hospital system not in the red right now….

Regardless of what the absolute mouthbreathers say here, covid was a huge financial burden for hospitals

More consolidation is in our future. OLOL and Oschner will both be buying up new medical groups and (in some cases) entire hospitals in new areas.

I once witnessed BRPD's Street Crimes Div bring in like 10 different perps there in a 6 hour period.

I lived in BR for the better part of 15 years and everyone I know always thought that The Lake was a Level One. It only took BR 100 years of modern medicine to achieve Level One status.

My primary job throughout college was as an orderly in a level 1 trauma unit.

Can confirm people are mostly just sacks of shite, piss and blood.
