What's the OT's opinion on Oxford shoes?

Some people think they are a classic look and others think they are too juvenile (not the rapper) looking for the work place.

The main reason I ask is that many Oxford style shoes have a rounded toe which when you wear a 13 is nice. Pointed toe or square toe shoes can look like snow skis.

I personally think they are a classic look. Any good recommendations from my large footed OT brethren?

Title edited to say suede oxfords. Sorry for the confusion. And the person saying this is a co-worker and one of my indirect supervisors

Who the frick thinks Oxfords are too juvenile for the workplace?

It's a broad category, so maybe show us a picture of what you're specifically talking about.

I wear an 11. So I don't have canoes for shoes.

I think they have their time and place. Understand your concern. Had a buddy that wore 14s. He felt some shoes looked like clown shoes

I've never heard someone refer to Oxford shoes as "juvenile".

Also, do what you want. If you feel like wearing them in the workplace. Than do so.

Who thinks they are juvenile? What dress shoes do these people wear? Loafers only? Oxfords are typically looked at as "dressier" than loafers.

Yeah, well suede wingtips are definitely more casual.

I think they have a place in a business casual office, and they're certainly not juvenile, IMO. I don't wear any, but I wouldn't think twice about doing so where I work (pretty laid back law office in Atlanta)

Not a huge fan of the suede oxfords myself. Personally, I think anything other than just the classic black or brown is for hipsters. But if you like em then go for it. All that really matters baw.

I looked at damn near every style and make of Oxfords this year. I ended up not buying them because I just don't think they're my style...but I like how utilitarian they are. There are few American made brands that I liked. Wolverine, surprisingly, makes some killer ones.

I went with something a bit less traditional...

Nothing wrong with suede Oxfords. There is everything wrong with square toe shoes though.

I see Oxfords all the time in my building. There's nothing wrong with a grown man wearing them.
