The local jewelry shop has the watch for $8k
Joma had it at $6500 all year. Two weeks ago it went up to $6900
Prestige has it listed at $6495. I talked to them today, they offer it at that price but do not give you a warranty card.
What’s the deal with that?
Why is the warranty worth $1500?
At Joma you can buy an extra warranty.
How/ who is selling them at wholesale?

They are buying the watches at wholesale from ADs that need to move product. The catch is that you don't get the warranty from the manufacturer, typically these grey dealers will offer their own warranty.

Are the ones you are comparing the same reference #? There is a $1000 difference in MSRP between 310.30.42.50.01.001 ($7000) and .002 ($8000), but they look the same. Main difference is probably the Crystal.

This is possible. Are you getting the Hesalite crystal or the Sapphire Sandwich? (The display caseback is also sapphire, while the Hesalite has a solid caseback.)
As far as the warranty, the non-OEM warranties are inferior. There is no guarantee that they will even use Omega parts.

The sapphire crystal is $8k. The hesalite is $7k. The sapphire crystal is also called the “sapphire sandwich” because the backing is sapphire.

I don’t know what you’re not understanding. I picked up my new in box Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich with a full warranty from an authorized dealer for well under $7000 in 2 days with no tax and no shipping costs. Just give them a call, it’s not that hard.
