If your symptoms persist beyond this time, or if pain is severe/uncontrolled along with urinary symptoms it may indicated epididymitis. Epidymitis is not common after a vasectomy, but it can happen.

I had a hematoma after mine. No big deal just took a little longer to recover. Like someone mentioned earlier you shouldn't have to wait the normal consult time because your problem is a result of the procedure and they'll fit you in. When I called and told them what was going on I was seen the next day.

Instead of the ER, go see a doc at one of the free standing urgent care clinics. I think you need to do this rather than wait. RN here, thanks.

OP, don't know for sure it's the same, but your condition after surgery and follow up symptoms sound very similar to what happened to me.
I struggled with recurrent epidymitis (sp?) for several years post-vasectomy. Fortunately, the intensity and frequency of it seems to have waned with time.
I took antibiotics the first couple of times it happened. After than, it seems to just get better on its own after a couple of days. I could tell it was coming on because I would initially get lower back pain.
Hope yours doesn't get any worse, and maybe you won't have future trouble.

I told him that's what is going on, but he accused me of STD's.
