Thanks coco

Think how all of this could have been avoided if she didn't put "non parents need not apply"

I consider myself to have a fairly large circle of friends and family and I don't think I've been to 10 children's birthday parties in my 25 years of adulthood.

When I was your age I rarely went to kids parties. When I got older and had kids and more and more of my social circle had kids as well that all changed.

To be fair, that's the only reason you said anything to begin with.

Don't try to woman yourself out of the blame here.

So we're supposed to take advice from someone who thinks that assless leather riding chaps and a pack of cigarettes is the perfect gift for a kid's birthday?

1. All chaps are by definition "assless". If they have an arse in them, then they're just a pair of leather pants.

2. I don't smoke cigarettes but do enjoy the occasional hand rolled cigar.

3. I never told you to take advice from me or anyone else for that matter.

FWIW, I wasn't offended at all...just thought it was hilarious that the OP thought a topic like this was so foreign to nonparents that they couldn't actually contribute.

But then again, it was done intentionally to induce bitchfighting IMO.

Don't be offended, but when it comes to issues involving children, I'd take Cocomo's opinion long before I considered yours.

I've only been a pediatric nurse for almost 14 years so clearly I know nothing about children whatsoever.

Did you not say you're 25? That being the case, I'm old enough to be your father. I was already out of high school and in the Army when you were born.

yet instead of that she's in here arguing with people saying that it's stupid

After asking what other parents do, mind you.

It's almost as if she was looking for validation on not being considerate enough to pick up a phone and ask.

Not offended but this is a public message board so expect most people to ignore your request to only include parents or whatever your request might be.

Go back and read my post. I said 25 years of adulthood. Let's say my balls dropped when I was 13. You do the math genius.

oh I get it

but even IRL, if you are having any type of discussion about parenting and you tell a non parent "I'm sorry, you don't have kids, you probably don't understand" and they lose their shite

it's just odd to me

Hey...don't hate because I am better at fictional parenting than you. Let's be adults here.
