I try to catch a live show every week .... because when i am an older person i would prefer not to look back on all the great nights i stayed home and watched Netflix.

Live music is an escapism just like sports or gambling or anything else. It may float your boat or it might not, but it’s still a relevant cultural need.

It’s actually pretty cheap. Favorite thing me and wifey do and we are in our forties. Although we do drop some coin now that we are older and travel to music fest and shows. But we aren’t broke either.

Shite is expensive. Seems like a waste of money.
Somebody's wife/girlfriend left with a rando at a live show, I see...

Candlebox Live is a great and cheap show for us old farts.
They will be at La Berg in Baton Rouge Friday night. You should go see Kevin Martin(lead singer) wail away. He's good.
I've seen them 3 times at the Varsity.
Our Tix to BCSF were about $67 each up in the 600s. We got them early. Was well worth the price of admission and the $12 25 oz can beers were not that bad unless you plan to drink equivalent of 24 12oz beers.

I’ve never understood a grown man having any desire to attend a music festival.

Now music festivals are NOT my jam. BCSF isn't nearly on the level of JazzFest of Hangout. My 40+ yr old friends who look forward to those two every year are a little baffling me.

Albeit that list for me is pretty small
Yeah I was trying to think of a huge act I would go see and I got nothin. I'm just enjoying the smaller venues and smaller shows.

Enjoying live music has nothing to do with being a kid or an adult. If anything, NOT enjoying live music would be more aligned with being a lazy POS who just wants to experience everything through a tv or computer screen.
Although if you enjoy country music, I could see where live music would be boring as shite.
