Sure, but ain’t “gifting” a kid a $15k+ car for a convenience. I’m planning on buying one my kids can share while they save up for their own, but nothing is given.

It's obvious that you either don't have a teen or yours isn't in enough activities to make hauling them around painful enough for you. I was THRILLED when my daughter (no pics) got her license. We were taking her on a minimum 30 minute communte to and from gymnastics and then after that diving practice every single day but Sundays. It gets old!

Kids delusional.

ALL 15-16 yr old first-time drivers are delusional. They have ZERO clue about real world costs and responsibility.
My uncle (Godfather) lived in Vegas during the 80's. He owned a sweet 260Z and was driving in to visit family.
I had just turned 16 and brain-fukced myself into believing he was giving me the car for my birthday.
I ended up driving a beige 1968 VW bug because my dad found a deal for $350

Years ago, my then 16 yr old daughter asked me to come see a used car she liked. I show up at the dealership and it's a BMW M4 convertible.
Later that evening we had a talk about the maintenance and insurance costs to drive that vehicle. She later decided on a Honda Accord and wrecked it in 18 months
