Standing and reciting the pledge of allegiance every morning in school
Fighting and only getting suspended, not expelled or arrested
Being able to go to an arcade/shoot pool and not worry about getting shot
Just being outside all day..playing sports, riding dirtbikes, creating fun
Having an actual job(cash), doing labor, before I was 12
Three channels on the tv
Rotary dial phones
Answering machines with mini cassette tapes
Pagers that would relay a voice message to the carrier
Movie lines waiting to see the big films

Sets of Encyclopedia Britanica or World Book in peoples houses.
I paid for our tickets and the woman asked "so where did you hear about us?"
I replied "World Book Encyclopedia, 1978, age 7!"

How about the water toy games, where the pumps would toss a ball and you try and get it in a little basketball hoop...
And stopping at Stuckeys...when riding in the way back of our hatchback across the south...
And notice how TV sets started on the floor and moved to a stand, then to an entertainment center, then to a mount...and finally over the mantle...ceiling is next
