OT Mechanics needed!

Just brought my car into the shop cause I could hear a grinding sound from the rear of my car. Shop hasn't look at it yet, but believes it is my Limited slip/positraction.
Said the ordered some fluid for it and add it. However, my car is still under warranty. I have a 2013 Challenger with 60,000 miles. (Yea I know, it's a Dodge.)
My thoughts are that if I am hearing this sound, than there has to be an issue. Either it it damaged or leaking fluid. Which in either case, I want it replaced since it's under warranty and not just have fluid added.
Am I wrong??... Should I not bring it to the dealership??
Thanks.

sounds like they are trying to add some friction modifier instead of fixing the problem so they don't have to warranty a new rear end.
or it could be a issue with the brakes on the rear of the car, but seems kinda odd to order some lubricant before they have taken a look at it.
ETA: are you at the dealership or an independent garage?

I had a sound from my rear end one time. Mechanic thought it was the differential. After replacing the rear end I still had the noise. I found it myself. My emergency brake shoe was sagging and rubbing.

I'd take it to the stealership, since it's under warranty.

Don't let them void your warranty.
