OK let’s be constructive here. If he’s threatening legal action, have you tried calling the guy and asking the fairly obvious question:
“If I pay the late fee, can we just be done with this?”
If the guy threatened to lawyer up, he’s doing so to make you pay the fee. If you’re implying that he’s going to try and hit you with legal fees JUST because he doesn’t like you and without having tried repeatedly to collect the fees that’s one thing... but that doesn’t sound like the situation.

He hasn't tried repeatedly to collect the fees...here's the twist
The relo company just paid the HOA dues, they were a few days late..they were due on 1/15..the relo company will pay the late fee
He brought the lawyer in because the relo company has been asking for a letter of good standing and I asked him for it and he won't give it. I've provided the bill of sale, the POA for the deed and the documents that show that the relo company is now responsible for the property. I've also given him my accepted job offer and relocation policy that outlines the buyout. He has accused me.of bullying for trying to make him deal with the relo compamy. The document in the deed shows where the relo company will take responsibility for the duties to the HOA.
So all they need the letter of good standing for is to refund me dues from November December, so I'm just going to wait for the company to sell it and he'll have to provide the info once the title transfers. It's like a 60 dollar refund so I'm in no hurry.

Update....the douches lawyer said I provided enough info to let it go and sent me a letter to know that they would answer requests of the relo company.....dillpicklelsu 1.....douchebag HOA president 0
