What kind of precedent would that set?

MLB replayed the end of a ball game back in the 80’s. It was the right decision.

Amusing to me is the firm/attorney the NFL choose to represent it.

This has been remarked upon.

Judge Morgan just ruled:

Remand denied.
Writ of mandamus denied.

Isn’t there mandatory arbitration for NFL ticket holders?

Then they could have kept it in CDC, which might actually have given them an injunction

Or just accept that you got beat. Now this is like watching the end of Trading Places with one Duke having a heart attack and the other screaming turn those machines back on.

Still not sure what the damages are to ticket holders. No more games were going to be played there. And the NFL will have a pretty plausible defense that there was a missed face mask call against the Rams QB, too. Not to mention the Saints got the ball first in over time.

This is just a publicity stunt by the lawyers.

Had not thought about that. But the NFL did not invoke arbitration here. Interesting.

Who may be a bigger whore for the almighty dollar than all the PI attorneys in the state combined. Just doesn’t use billboards for his whoring.

Just wow. What a bigoted statement. And I’m sure there were plenty of “nondiverse” people in the suit.

I really hope you’re joking and realize he is talking about diversity of jurisdiction.

It's a funny thing. I see the world so much as a lawyer that it never occurred to me someone might misinterpret that.

And honestly, I am pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

That said, it's a lesson in language for sure.

I don't criticize other lawyers. I will say that whatever you think of Glad, I like him personally and the people who work with him.

There may actually be something to this. After a particular game show debacle, Congress stepped in and made it so they can’t cheat the contestants and so that everything is honest/fair. I believe that worked because the show made its money off of advertising on their broadcast which was over federally controlled airways. Very similar to how the NFL makes their money.

And the NFL sure hasn’t been shy about including the government in their internal squabbles between the organization and the players. So they’ve already shown they’re willing to allow government intrusion.

I’m not saying it would work or that it would be worth it to go down this road, but it does seem to me like it is a possibility.

Good ole Commerce Clause. I suppose the NFL is an activity of Commerce.

Filing it as a class action gives them a slam dunk removal under the Class Action Fairness Act. You are all but guaranteeing you will be in federal court.

Because the attorney, Frank D'Amico. knows he can get free publicity for the 2 weeks leading up to the Super Bowl and not have to pay a penny for it. You can't buy that kind of advertising. He's just being opportunistic.
