Somebody in your office is having a lunch time romp. Nothing brings out the fishy smell like a post-coital discharge.

Isn't that normally when your mom drops off your lunch? Hmm.

Any particular reason why the smell will come and go?

Take the time to ask all of your female co workers if they notice any fishy smell. They have good noses for such smells.

Yes, it can come and go as load is applied to a circuit, causing heat buildup from arcing at a loose connection, which causes the plastic to heat up and emit the odor. Once the load is gone, the heat dissipates, and so does the odor.

I have a strong sense of smell, and always pick up fish in my office. I think it is from coffee, but can't say for sure. Anyway, here is a breakdown of amines in coffee to support claim.
