Because it’s painted, yes, most definitely.
Remove the box, put a piece of ply behind it larger than the hole, then cut a piece that fills the whole. Sand it with corse sand paper (180 is fine), spread bondo over the seams (making sure that you’re forcing it into the seams), cut with 180. Apply a skim coat of bondo and sand it it with 220-320. Paint it. It was never there.
