I've heard the same thing, and that it rips the fur.
I use a Zoom Groom (about 6 bucks on amazon) and it works well enough. Still have to vacuum everyday. (Lab/GSD mix)

It is legit. Works on my black lab.
Not at all. This sounds like something the competition probably came up with bc I've been using one for years and have yet to observe this.

It works great on my German Shepherd. It's really astonishing how much hair comes out.

I've taken it a step further. I put the brush attachment on my vacuum and use it on my dog once a day. You have to stop every now and then to get the hair out of the bristles. I've been doing it daily for about 2 months now. Works great and didn't cost me anything

Golden and labradoodles will shed if there is not enough "poodle" in the family tree. Great dogs though , just try to get one that looks more like a poodle

Very legit. I have the name brand but if people say the Amazon one is just as good then go for it, they are expensive so the savings is worth it.

It's a de-shedding tool for dogs, sort of a comb with a built-in razor.

Mine takes a lot of undercoat off my mutt. His undercoat just doesn't quit doe.
I can use it for a straight hour on him and its like i never started.
Then do it all again the next day

I have a shepherd and a husky-mix. Works great so I would say it was worth it. It's not like you have to buy one once a month.

Got a no-brand version and it's as good as the brand name. Plus cheaper.
My shepherd sheds a new dog coat every other week, but when I use it, she's good for lots longer and seems happier and cooler. Takes about 20 minutes to do her right. I go outside and take a plastic grocery bag with me. She enjoys it. Prolly could do this with her every other day and it would maximize the benefit, but I'm lazy and it's hot as hell in FL in August.
I'd definitely find an Amazon version or some no-brand version. They are just as good as the hi-priced ones.

Totally depends on how thick your dog's fur is. If it's super thick and with undercoat, just get a wire brush. If short hair, very effective buy time consuming.

Absolutely worth every penny.
I have a Pomeranian, a Weimaraner, and a Catahoula.
Add this to daily vacuuming, regular trips to the groomer, and wood floors and you'll probably see a decrease in allergic annoyance.
