OT Doctors Unite!

I have spent the last hour or so trying to find out what the hell is going on with me, but can't find anything. Any time I swallow, it hurts but it only hurts on the left side. It's also my tongue that hurts and not my throat. I do not have tonsils, and I am not congested or anything like that. I feel great, other than it hurts to open my jaw to eat, and any food I eat basically has no flavor. Other than Aids, what could it be?

I usually get those on the tip of my tongue, but I can't see nor feel anything.

Thank you for your response. I do not have any swelling, difficulty breathing or any other type of pain outside of swallowing and opening my mouth larger than normal. I think we can safely (and hopefully) rule out Ludwig's angina

I initially thought strep as well, but my throat doesn't hurt. It's the back of my tongue. I feel no pain until I move my tongue.
Edit: I shoved my finger down my throat as far as possible, and on the left side of my tongue, it feels like i've bit the shite out of my tongue but obviously have no way of doing that because my teeth can't reach that part of my tongue.
