Yea, I am probably going to just wait it out. If tomorrow comes and im still dealing with it I will call the on base clinic and see if I can't get an appointment.

Generally speaking, unilateral (one sided) sore throat is most commonly a peritonsillar abscess or peritonsillar cellulitis. This also frequently causes trismus (or pain/difficulty with opening the mouth). Peritonsillar abscess can occur in patients that have had tonsillectomy, but it is pretty rare. Other possibilities would be lingual tonsillitis (which would explain the soreness at the back of your tongue) , early supraglottitis, or neoplasm (but that is highly unlikely with such a short time course) .

Peritonsillar cellulitis/abscess still possible. Treated a few in post-tonsillectomy patients. I would bet lingual tonsillitis based on what u r describing. Go see an ENT doc tomorrow.

If I am still experiencing pain, I would have to schedule an appointment on base to be seen by them before they would possibly refer me off base. That's the only unfortunate part about being covered under Tricare Prime.

Clindamycin and a medrol dosepak would do the trick more than likely if you can find someone to write it.

Take some lozenges and ibuprofen. If it doesn't resolve in a few days, see a doctor.
