I get mine mailed to my house on auto refills through my health insurance pharmacy, OptumRx. For the most part it works really well. Every now and then there’s a hiccup where I have to wait for a new prescription or authorization form but this is a lot easier on me than trying to find a Walgreens that has the stuff in stock.

omnipod

Does this automatically correct and give dosage of insulin based on highs or do you manually have to program it or whatever for every high? This is smaller and seems more convenient than the t-slim theyre trying to sell me on. They said it automatically corrects glucose levels without needing to manually do it, it detects me at 150 or 170 and it injects with the correct amount.... or so they say

This is who my wife goes through. Apparently they were recently purchased by a different distributor, so maybe attempt to contact them again? Since the switch, they’ve been more responsive than they used to be.

My son uses Omnipod with dexcom CGM. Looking forward to the automated system for better peace of mind. We still set an alarm in the middle of the night for corrections.

The difference in quality of life between finger sticks and a CGM is much greater than b/w pens and a pump, IMHO.

Could not agree with this more. Just being able to see your blood sugar on your phone coupled with the high and for me the more important low alarms was life changing

I use CGM Dexcom G6 and Tresiba and Humalog pens. A1C is consistently at or below 5.4

Not to derail but where does everyone get their CGM supplies from??

I used to get mine from Advanced Diabetes Supply in San Diego and it was awful. I only started with them because my insurance then required me to go through a supplier. I would have several instances of them not being able to get my reorder approved by my doctor in time (expiring prescription) and then over to insurance to where I was sitting without sensors for over a week. Over a year ago I found out I was now able to use local pharmacies to get my CGM supplies so now it is all in my hands and much better.

I couldn’t tell you. My son was recently diagnosed and I’ve just been doing tons of research on them. He’s on the dexcom, but we are still waiting to get a pump. Leaning toward omnipod at the moment.

I use a Medtronic with the guardian CGM. It has its moments but I love auto mode.

My son has a dexcom and we just got his t-slim pump. We have not done the education class yet but it’s scheduled so can’t give real feedback on it.

From what I’ve read though it is very good.

If you need some advice, let me know. I’ve been battling this for over 25 years and technology has come a long way

This thread gives me a lot to think about. We live in an area (Naples, FL) where going to the beach happens. Any concerns there? Is it highly visible? Is water an issue?

Thanks.

ETA: Apologies if my vanity is showing.

Insulin degrades in the heat, but you should be fine unless your out there all day

Water is no issue

I am so used to having people ask what I’m wearing. It doesn’t bother me

I switched from my old Medtronic Paradigm to the Tandem TSlim X2 at the beginning of the year and I've got to say I really dislike this frickin thing. The Control IQ does not work nearly as well as advertised and it's constantly shrieking/buzzing at me for every little thing. The cartridge system is not as good as the minimed reservoirs and wastes a lot of insulin on every fill up which I hate. Overall I'm very disappointed with the pump as it has been just a constant pain in the arse. Will be switching back to Medtronic for my next upgrade period unless Tandem comes out with something significantly improved.

I got on the Dexcom CGM about 2 years ago and it has done much more to improve my quality of life than any pump. I love this thing and am really excited to get the G7. If any of you are not on a CGM you should really consider getting on one.

Also shoutout my DR. Silverberg gang.

Was wondering if this was just me, got supplies about a month ago and they sent me 2 months' worth instead of my normal 3. Been trying to get in touch with them and nothing. They've gone full judge Crater.
