Current girl I'm seeing is from there. We met the old fashioned way, btw. I've always wanted to go and now I have someone who knows the area, knows the language, and will screw my brains out the whole time there.

Not really. Flights pop up all the time. Especially with some airlines not using the travel sites. Two years ago somebody here gave me a tip on a SW flight from Nola to Tampa that wasn't there like three hours earlier.
I'd like to find a great-priced flight from Nola or even Houston to anywhere in the Caribbean out of the country in December for my family of five. If somebody has an insight, I want to hear it.

There's plenty of cheap options in early December, but the last day for the cheap flights is around Wed Dec 16th. If you can go within the first two weeks of December I can likely find something. But I'm guessing you'd like to go over christmas.

Yep. I am basically off from December 19th to January 4th. I'd like to take the kids out of the country. Don't really care where, as long as it has sun and a beach. Cancun. Punta Cana. Jamaica. Don't even care. There used to be these occasional great Dallas to Honolulu flights for $500 but they are gone too.

Houston to Grand Cayman is $485 a person on DL or United Tues or Wed Dec 22/23- Tues or Wed Dec 29/30, not really cheap but of the islands it's the cheapest.

All of the prices listed are roundtrip, not a dumb question. Sometimes one-way tickets are this expensive, but I usually only post roundtrip prices

$258/$260 on some random dates in Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec. Cheapest looks to be leaving on Saturday, come back Tues or Wed. It's only about $10 more to leave on Tues or Wed and come back on a Saturday

Well that was for frontier, but looking more in depth its $280 or $290 on American or United. Delta is at $391
