Orthodontist wants 7K for braces - Should I get a second opinion?

Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out to see if anyone has any experience with Invisalign and can offer some advice. I recently went to an orthodontist in BR for a consultation and was quoted $7,000 for the whole treatment of fixing my crooked teeth. This seems like a lot of money to me, so I'm wondering if this is a fair price or if I should get a second opinion.
Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds about right. Think I paid 6 for my son's about 4 years ago. His were really bad.

I think my kids were about 4500, Just minor corrections for crowding and straightening no massive overbite. 20 months of treatment included retainer. Was all inclusive, 7K seems high but could be based on the amount of correction and time needed.

Both of my daughters’ braces cost $5,000 each. So maybe a little high, but not outrageous.

I’ve had both. I’m currently in the aligners made by 3M. Your quote was a little higher than what mine cost but close to average.
And also- the aligners are very effective. I had traditional metal braces for almost 3 years and still had to do the aligners for 6 months to move my upper molars forward.
Of the two types of braces - I definitely prefer the aligners.

Is that traditional ortho or only the price for clear aligners? If that's just an Invisalign quote then traditional ortho may be cheaper if you're willing to live with brackets. There are also other clear aligner companies that aren't as expensive as Invisalign.

Paid 6-6.5k for each of my kids' braces. One is still wearing them, and the other got them off last year.

Invisalign will cost at least $5K One of my adult sons is nearly 75% complete with his Invisalign adjustments.

Idk I sort of feel like it's a scam. How many Baws here never got braces? (I did when I was a teenager)
