Orleans Parish cafeteria workers will soon be replaced by kiosks.

It’s weird how some of you seem to actively root for people to lose their jobs/resent that they are lobbying for increased pay and/or working conditions.

i have no problem with people wanting to make more money.
i have a problem with the government TELLING private companies how much they should pay.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that these cafeteria workers aren't working for private companies
Unless you think the culinary epicenter of the gulf south is home to a ton of cafeterias

It's weird how many of you don't understand simple economic concepts.

honestly, didn’t even click the link and was not even responding about these particular people.
was simple replying to the statement i quoted.
and while i don’t want the government telling food service places what to pay people, i’d be ok with them all getting paid more if it meant i actually got what i ordered.

So prices go up, and less people eat there and decide to go out for fast food. Demand goes down, quality suffers, and people get fired.
