Odd how crazy talented guys at the HS level don’t quite make it at the college level. But he was a (deceptively) smart guy too and is doing quite well now.

There used to be a bank across the street from The Chimes. On top of the bank was a Godfather's Pizza. Rudy Macklin was a VP at the bank and I would occasionally see him in the vicinity of that corner.
Years later, the building was totally re-done. It was made into some kind of apt./condo thing. I heard rumor that that is where Les had his apartment. I don't think it was a secret from Kathy or anybody else. I think he used it to chill after games instead of fighting that miserable traffic. Just a guess though.

The university had an apartment on top of voodoo
BBQ on Nicholson for Les to sleep at during late nights. It really isn’t an uncommon thing for schools to do for coaches
