Is there an evidence that one is better than the other? That GMO and the like are harmful?

Mendel was modifying genes in the 1800's

granted, it wasn't on the same scale as it is at this time, and the Monsanto's of the world have corrupted a lot of it, but I don't think non-organic is that bad.

Oh, gmo really doesnt apply to organic vs non

Gmo (I am certified to test for it by the USDA ) is the biggest crock of shite.

There's an argument to be made for both. You can link certain things to different ailments. You can argue about the effects of gmo seeds on the environment(this is the biggest issue), but an equally convincing argument can be made for the opposition. GMO's could potentially solve world hunger and ensure mankind's survival. Ultimately it's a personal decision that you have to make. I avoid any dairy that has been treated with hormones and tend to buy organic fruit if the peel is permeable.

In the sense that GMO isn't any worse for you than regular fruits/vegetables, yeah

All I know for sure about it is organic milk is expensive as shite but tastes way better than non organic so I treat myself to a half gallon or so every now and then.

Most food that is whole - like ones that you can hold in your hand...and that's it in it's entirety, are organic.

Potatoes. Rice. Bananas. Apples. Cucumbers. etc...

The bagged foods that are already made are what can be non-organic.

I guess what I'm saying is organic only matters when not dealing with whole foods?

I don't get all the negative propaganda that GMOs get. It's genetically modified, not chemically modified. People will believe and run with anything.

I heard from some scientist in an NPR interview years ago that the only organic things worth bothering about are peanut butter, fruits/veggies that you eat the skin, and I think dairy and meats.

Organic milk tastes so much better for some reason.

Exactly.

And I hated that viral FB vid of that little girl showing how real veges rot faster than GMO. And it was titled something like "The truth about GMOs that even a little kid understands".

BUT how are you going to keep produce fresher longer and give it to starving people? Drought-ridden places?

Sure, let's kill hundreds of thousands of people because you don't want to eat from a plant that is far superior than the natural one.

I started buying organically raised bacon, eggs and butter about 6 months ago.
The taste is dramatically better.

That doesn't mean that non-organic bacon etc can't be just as good but I have never been comfortable with Antibiotics and hormones and meat so there's that.

I buy organic when there is a legitimate alternative but I still eat plenty of non.

More nutrients delivered to your body through synthetic fertilizers. This is a potential key in preventing disease like cancer. There are some that can be classified as synthetic organic in that they are synthetically made but deliver nutrients in an organic fashion through microbial delivery.

Maybe people will understand just how vital GMOs are when the planet's population is insanely high and we still have the ability to keep it fed.

So you're..... "The Man" keeping America sick. You bastard. Merry Christmas.

But really, since the first farmer cross pollenated or bred different cows etc we've been genetically modifying. Where is the line where it got "bad"? Everyone can point to Mon Santo or was it Dow or are they the same? Example I heard is modifying a specific corn where it is only receptive to their fertilizer? Or tweaking a weed so it only is killed by their product? That's sketchy.

Organic vs Non? We will find out in 20 years. Eating less chemicals and shite sounds good to me, but so does washing my food before I eat it.

Organic is all about the dollar, but so are factory farms. I am waiting for scandals. I'm sure it has already happened where someone catches Farmer Ted out spraying pesticide at 3AM or scattering cow shite.
