I would find a new eye doc because of it.

That's rather rude.

Because you smelled cigarette smoke on him? You seriously find the smell of smoke that bad? Do you feel him smoking would effect his job?

Optometrist is not an M.D. Go to a real doctor next time.

Smelly fingers probably means he has some kind of cigarette nastiness on his skin. I wouldn't want that in my eye!

Maybe if he at least washed his hands...

Wrong. Opthalmologists are MDs and surgeons. Optometrists are not medical doctors yet pay legislatures to expand their scope of practice beyond what they are skilled in doing.

A smoker's hands will still smell like smoke even after washing.

No.

While their scope of practice is changing now due to lobbying, they mainly focus on primary vision care like contact and eye glass adjustments.

Hey Paul Allen, how was the appointment ruined? Did you not get the work done that you needed done?

Or was is supposed to be a perfect getaway from work, and the doc ruined it by smelling unpleasant to you?

If it's the last one, you are a whiny bitch

My dentist eats powered donuts while he leans over me to clean my teeth. Nobody likes a complainer.

Yes, yes, and given his job and proximity to others involved in carrying out his duties, it's inconsiderate. There are probably dozens of others that do his job just as well as him in town. I'd see one of them. I didn't say it would affect his job. His job is just done well by other people that I would almost definitely prefer to be in close proximity to.

Just in case you've missed it, since the big thread on the Optometry bill, Traffic Circle trolls any thread that borders on medical care with something about optometrists. He understands what they could do and can do now and isn't that dumb. He just still gets a kick out of it.

There's nothing wrong with not preferring it around you in an intimate setting.

I agree but people make it out to be a way bigger deal than it is. When I was a smoker I was always considerate and would find a place a good distance from anyone if I would smoke in public. I would still see people 50 yards away fake coughing like they were walking through a cloud of pepper spray.
