Why would anyone attend that? I would suspect that the attendees would just be a bunch of fricking loudmouths and complainers looking for their minute of fame. 99.8% of the people on the planet know absolutely nothing about a project of that scale and won't have anything valuable at all to add.

Is DOTD the abbreviation for Dept. Of Tiger Droppings?

I'm naked right now.

For some reason, I found this to be funny as hell!

It was 5:30-8:00

That’s why you go from 5:30-6:30.
Presentation, information, how the data was collected vs. loop or a new south bridge, etc.

After all that you leave before the “public forum” starts.

That actually sounds like a pretty smart strategy!

That’s excellent info.

I noticed that they are making it 8 lanes wide with enough room on the deck for 10 if they ever need it. They are replacing some overpasses to do that.

This is a very well thought out project by DOTD. I’m impressed.

It still doesn’t eliminate the main bottleneck.

How does Nola have twin bridges going to the west bank, but a major Interstate in the capital city can’t get a second bridge?

It does address the main bottleneck where 10 narrows to 1 lane.

My understanding was that the South side of 10 right there would be relatively unscathed. Ivars/Boltons, Jimmy Johns, Schlitz, etc. The extra lane is going to be built INSIDE the existing lanes there.

That looks to be the case in the layouts that someone posted.

There are two bridges in BR.

Do you consider yourself an informed voter?

1) I take 190 out of BR regularly.

2) Go back and read my post where I said TWIN bridges.

Think for a minute about your reading comprehension skills and determine if you are an informed voter.

BR doesn’t need twin bridges for I-10. It needs another crossing around Plaquemine or Brusly.

The daily congestion over the bridge is caused by the bad design where the merge point narrows to a single lane on the east side. Their design corrects that while adding capacity to I-10 and fixing some of the horrible interchange designs.

I’m sure there will be a lot of that at these info sessions.

Some images from the DOTD meeting (full sized layout and conceptual images available here: LINK)

The full sized images are too large to post here, but there is some good stuff on that website. It's looks like a well thought out project so far.

All sections are a minimum of 8 lanes wide with shoulders on both right hand and left hand side. Feds will cover the cost of sound new walls and lighting for most of this stretch.

No one wants you poking around residences so you can make a buck.

Check out the layouts posted on the site I linked to. They outline where they are having to buy properties. You would find the proposed design especially impressive I think.

If you didn't get contacted by them yet, you are not getting bought out.
