Only shopping at American-owned businesses

Is this racist? I do my best to only stop at American owned gas stations and convenience stores, even if it means paying a little more. Makes me feel good. What say the OT?

Kind of dumb. Even if the owner is an immigrant, their income is still taxed just like a citizen and their business is still a US business. As far as buying products made in and produced by an American company, I can dig it because it created a bigger economic impact for the US of A.

Considering "American" constitutes people of all ethnic, cultural, social, and religious backgrounds, I would say "not racist."
However, the fact that you're connecting "choosing American" to "potentially racist" implies that you consider "American" one particular race that you seek out over other races.

No, probably closer to xenophobic but your protest is somewhat watered down when you think about most of the items for sale are imported from some other country. We (the U.S.) don't manufacture much anymore and what we do is usually over looked by the "American Owned" businesses for cheaper imported stock.

Ross Perot correctly predicted that NAFTA would create a giant sucking sound of jobs leaving for other countries. A country that does not manufacture quickly finds itself where we found America.
Not only does it impact the economy but it changes the personality and morality of a country. We moved from a country where we proved hard work would be rewarded to a country where we looked for the government to solve our issues.

What you're describing is not American-owned, it is white owned. So yes, it is racist.

How do you know that the stores owned by brown people aren’t American citizens?
