Are we at a movie theater, sporting event or Disney World?

Fine print “card charge $3”. Probably won’t be much of a line at that booth.

And if you are able to use a credit card with a vendor, don't forget about the processing fee ...

I am all for businesses making money, and one can easily not go to this vendor, but the absurdity and greed of some of these business owners is mind-boggling. And then you have those who follow because others are doing it.

How about just pricing your items fairly? The businesses make money while the customer still finds "value."

Yeah ain't no way the Turkey leg should be $25.

At another booth I heard a handful of crawfish was $20 as well

I already acknowledged that.

It still doesn't make it "right."

It will be made "right" if enough people choose not to buy it.

I agree, but when other vendors follow suit, the options at a festival for food and drinks are limited, especially if they are all in collusion.

I get it. Eat before you go. Drink before you go. I'm all for that, but having reasonably priced items at a festival isn't asking for much. It's taking advantage of people, while acknowledging that those people do have a choice to not buy.

I was moderately interested in going. Got better things to do than be held hostage this weekend.

My husband's in a club that has/ had always sold Fried Green Tomatoes at a local fair. They were good enough that people sought them out year after year.
Then the fair upped the price of their spot to $500. Then after covid reduced the length of the fair from 2 1/2 days to one day.
And the economics didn't work any longer.

The inventory that Pontchatula vendor would have to have ....how many dozen turkey legs and what do you do with the left overs? How do you keep them refrigerated ? Likewise the cheese steak? Heck of a menu, many small hole in the wall restaurants wouldn't have that diverse an offering.

By comparison, this is the price of a turkey leg at Disney.

And even though you only get one "leg" at the Strawberry Festival, note, they do say "legs" as in plural. Someone should contest this.

You can still spread the words and talk about it. Not everything comes down to buying it or not.

I double dare you to buy the turkey legs and then ask for a refund if they only bring you one leg.
