If I were this guys lawyer I would make him recite this until he said it in his sleep.
Cops shoot people all the time because they reached for something. This guy should get the same treatment considering he was dealing with a criminal threatening with what looked to be a gun.

County Judge has no tie-in to the justice system. She’s admin only.

There's already laws in place that charges criminals with murder if one of their buddies gets killed while committing a crime.

Totally agree with this.....and police have the benefit of "proper" training and backup units.

Hate it didn't include the finish. Because I was about to.
Edit: I see a later link included the money shot.

That last shot might be a problem.

Wat? I’m just going by the law, Mr. Conservative. The two execution style shots at the end are going to be very hard to defend. Y’all are completely insane
So you want the thug criminal that was shot 8 times to lay there in pain and bleed out for the next few minutes suffering? That’s pretty fricking inhumane.
This guy is a hero and saved lives in that restaurant, yet will likely go to jail. There was someone sitting at the dinner table with him. Would you not protect your wife and terminate the thug POS that is threatening your life and your wife’a life?
Meanwhile the stupid fricks in Chicago shoot up the streets and kill each other every day and no one is ever arrested.
This country is so fricked

I like the guy in the booth by the juke box. Guy never flinches. Just another day to him. Looks like he went back to his meal when the shooting was done.

Yeah, we are completely insane for expecting not to get robbed while enjoying a meal. We are completely insane for for enjoying seeing justice get served for some POS thug.
Y’all are misinterpreting my statements.
I’m merely looking at this through a legal lense and not a moral one like y’all are.
That last execution style shot will be really fricking tough to defend at trial.
From a legal perspective, and you can argue whether the current laws are good to not, that last shot is probably going to cost him some time in the Texas penal system.
I’m not pro criminal or whatever other bullshite that is thrown around.
The robber was probably a POS and I’m not stanning for the guy.

I have a feeling this ain't that guy's first rodeo. That pistol has notches in the grip.

Have fun explaining that to a jury when you are on trial for your life because you take that last shot.

This can all be true and that last shot can still be bad and likely to land the guy in the defense chair fighting a murder charge.

Nice whataboutism that has no relevance to the case in this thread.

Crazy how the customer in the corner just sits there and barely flinches when the guy is shooting the robber multiple times in the customers direction.

Shooter needs some practice.
His first three missed badly.

He his going to have a hard road ahead of him defending what happened. Like it or not, that’s a fact.
He didn’t save lives that day, because the bad guy didn’t even have a real gun. That’s irrelevant for self defense, but like it or not, the prosecution is probably going to use that against him.
Just because people are saying he is going to at a minimum go to trial, and possibly go to jail doesn’t mean they don’t agree that he was justified in using self defense.
Just because you’re justified, doesn’t mean you won’t go to court, and if things look bad, you could end up in jail.
If you plan to carry a gun, know the laws and get yourself an idea of how things play out in the real world after something like this happens. Even being acquitted in court can still ruin your life.

Do you have proof that the guy is still technically alive before that last shot? Part of being "murder" is the person has to be living.

Armed robbery v. 2nd degree murder. Penalties offset. Replay the down.
Why should the shooter go to jail for winning a gun fight. Can't blame him for running up the score. Rankings and shite.

You're going on the assumption that the citizen KNEW the gun was fake.
The Federal Justice Dept. couldn't prosecute the Cleveland PD in the Tamir Rice shooting for the same reason.
