I'm hitting the road early Saturday morning. I'll keep the idea of getting off at exit 74 if need be.

The only problem with the back roads is everyone else that knows them is taking them too.

Left last Sunday Morning for Orange Beach. Was on I-12 in Walker at 8:06. Got off in Albany, made a left at the exit ramp stop sign. Took it down to 190.

Took a right onto 190 and stayed on until getting back on I-12 at Robert. Took I-12 down to Exit 74. Took the right all the way down to the roundabout and got onto 190 by going left there.

Took 190 through Slidell until it merged into Highway 90. Took 90 across Pearl River and the state line.

Took and IMMEDIATE left onto Hwy 604 in MS. Took it all the way down to Hwy 607 in MS. Took the left and was within 1 mile of I-10 headed towards Mobile.

Took I-10 all the way through there down past Loxley and got off at the new Expressway Exit.

From my driveway to the lobby of Phoenix West II took me 4.5 hours, detours through Hammond and Slidell included. It's just as much about WHEN you leave as it is what route you take.

Take the first exit bc from 13 to 2 was an extra hour. (We had two cars and someone was being optimistic)
Big mistake
43 to 90 to BUSINESS 190 worked like a freakin charm.

This terrible joke loses it's last bit of luster after the thread has more than one page.

The WAZE app is fantastic for spotting jams; and every cop along the way. I recommend. There is not construction around mobile but there is often traffic.

Nice that they decided to do this during hurricane season..

If you read, and COMPREHEND what the alerts say, the lane closures are temporary. That's why they are closed only during certain times during the day. If a storm were approaching, the lane closures would be cancelled to allow for evacuations.

By the way, the project has an approximate duration of 2 years. If you work only between hurricane seasons, you'll pretty much double the duration.

My plan is to exit waveland and take 90 all the way to 510. Only issue I had doing the reverse last week was when the cop was stopping 90 traffic to let 190 merge. And some idiot that had his blinker on from the Venetian isles to past pearlington.
