No. You do TTL in LA. You get a temp tag and bill of sale and you're good for 60 days to get TTL in LA.

I live in Dallas, and you can get just a good a deal in Louisiana on just about any type of vehicle new or used.

Dallas has the highest auction prices in the country outside of California.

I saved $200 over any price a Houston or Dallas dealer would give, right here in Baton Rouge

How do you know? Did you shop all the other places?

These guys haven't actually shopped for a vehicle in Baton Rouge recently

A flood happened less than a year ago and there are still people desperate to pay sticker because they lost vehicles

Houston area has beat Northshore/BR local dealers over the years by $1,600 to $2,000 on $35,000 vehicles. Local dealers can't (or won't) compete. If you want to save money on a new vehicle, buy in Houston / Katy. This is based on my data.

That's pretty much the point. I don't negotiate. I say give me your best price and the local yocals have never beat the big dogs in Houston. I don't haggle.

That's your problem. You can't say "give me your best price." You have to make an offer. Do your homework.

Not my problem. I don't screw around with haggling. Give me your best price, and Houston always beats the local yoacals.

Eh. I've dealt with this 3 times now. Ended up buying in Dallas, Miami, and Houston because local dealers wouldn't even match the list price on the same vehicle in these markets. And we're talking about $5k+ difference.

you're basically saying that your time is worth less than $100 per hour in addition to the hastle of driving to Houston.

Is your time worth more than 100 per hour? That's equivalent to making over 200k per year. So odds are, no his time isn't worth that much and neither is yours. And weekend time isn't worth nearly as much.

I value my weekend time way more than the work week.

I'm not driving 5 hours to buy a vehicle unless I'm saving 5k+ and then I'm gonna pay a fee to have it delivered.

That's not even taking into account the added value of shopping locally or getting it serviced where it was purchased

Don't understand the service issue. I bought at a dealership on one side of Houston, get it serviced at the one closest to me. Service departments don't give a shite where you bought it.

And I have seen stupid numbers come off sticker in Houston. Saving 5k would not be unheard of at the right time.

As far as the 5 hour drive, I guess i do it so much, it's just not a big deal to me. And I hate driving most of the time.

So, dealers who do more volume can sell for less than dealers who do less volume. Who knew.

My dealer comes get my truck from my office for oil changes and other maintenance. They usually wash it for free while it's there. They leave me something to drive while it's gone. I doubt you'll get that from a dealer you don't buy vehicles from.

I bought two vehicles when I lived in Houston and the biggest difference was they tried to get me in and out as fast as possible instead of spending the time to make sure I had what I need.

I bought a few trucks and wives Range Rover (biggest overpriced tank) in Houston.
I found a pre owned low miles Chevy Colorado 4x4 loaded when I was driving around talking business with a customer who buys corvettes. We stopped to look at a pre owned corvette and I saw nice Chevy Colorado that caught my eye. I am sure price wise I got an avg deal nothing special.

New trucks I buy new F150 and a few F250's for my business. Texas seems to be a little less expensive on avg $1,500 to $2,000 on a similar truck.

New Range Rover I went to Houston to buy it. The dealer in Louisiana did not have the color my wife wanted and was not interested in bringing this one in. My business partner found this one in Hosuton, so I went there to buy it. On this model since it was hard to find with the panoramic roof the price was the price $115,000. One before that we went to Atlanta to get it. It was the same thing my wife wanted a certain color which dealer did not have it here.
