A concentration camp is a place where a group of people are imprisoned for various reasons, like their ethnicity or political beliefs. What OP describes fits in the definition of a concentration camp. ETA: Unsure why I'm being downvoted. Open up a dictionary.

You’re being downvoted because a significant portion of the OT consists of idiots. They don’t know what a concentration camp is. They think it only means a Nazi death camp.

I 100% honestly did not expect my usage of the term "concentration camp" to result in 7 pages of bickering about the term.

Who, me? Because that’s exactly what I said.

I have never argued nor cared about the definition of “concentration camp”. My only point is that the Jews were treated worse.

You know what the crime was we were at war with Japan and they were suspected to be loyal to Japan which during a time of war isand was a crime. I'm not sure what point you are trying to prove. Was it wrong? Yes. If a large portion of the populous after 911 would've been suspected to be part of Al Quieda what do you think would've happened?

Wait a minute, are you saying we should have rounded up every American with middle eastern heritage and put them in camps in 2001?

No, but I am saying that the government did round up anyone with suspected ties to the "attacking" force, Al Quaeda, and detain them. Which I did not have a problem with. It was more difficult in '42 because it was an entire race of people that they were worried about and we were much less humane as a society at that time.

Good

Now imagine the govt ripping the neighbor you have know for 20+ years and his family and kids and putting them in a camp because he happened to be born in Iraq

Why would they round up the Japanese immigrants and Japanese-American citizens and not the Germans or Italians?

No dude. You are interjecting into a statement I made about what another poster said earlier. He said pledging allegiance to and aiding Japan in a time of war was not a crime. I disagreed because it is absolutely a crime. Thats all
