I did the Disney Who Wants to be a Millionaire in Disney. I go to the million dollar round. Wound up winning some Millionaire buttons and a Millionaire hat.

It was the first game show where a million bucks was offered. It was originally planned as a limited run as well.

TPIR started doing the prime time specials. Remember this chick?

My wife and I are both trivia nuts and watched it religiously during the first couple of years. We both were convinced they kept dumbing it down to get a winner. His run was the only one we both knew every answer to as soon as we read the question. Some of the questions would be harder for someone in their 20s or 30s today because of a couple of older pop culture references.

I watched it and my thought at the time that he had a pretty easy road to the million dollars. I was a regular watcher of the show and there was always a question or two that I had come down to a 50/50 before the player stopped.

But, in this case, the questions seemed easier to me.

did it hurt your feelings that people weren't more in a frenzy when you first came out?

Imagine how much of an idiot had he done that stunt of "phone a friend" and telling his Dad he was going to win a million, then go out and miss the question.

Imagine if up was down

The producers did a fantastic job, and Regis Philbin was superb in driving that show.

It really is incredible to think about. They made a prime-time hit out of what was nothing more than a multiple-choice quiz.

But it had all the elements. A unprecedented cash prize for a game show. A very "democratic" format, which made every contestant a relatable figure. The sound effects, the music, etc.

The people who created that show earned their paychecks for sure.

Yep. Laying in the living room with my family. I was 8. Remember him calling his pops to tell him.

I wonder what percentage of men in South LA hear “Woodville” and immediately think “Illusions?”

Well, yeah. They put the wood in Woodville.

Also, nobody West of the Basin has any idea what that place is.
