It should start receding today, right?

not really at this time.

In some areas the amount of water coming down for north has no place to go and some bayous are flowing backwards which is causing new flooding.

Water is still pouring over Alligator Bayou Rd.,but the level has dropped looking at the waterline on the trees. (Manchac Highlands side)

I saw a doe & 2 fawns trapped in the reception center fence on the corner of Bluff/Alligator Bayou

Prayers for you guys.

I am way more attuned to what you guys are going through after living through our flooding last year.

I know it's a helpless feeling, I am following closely.

Good news all around here. Hope it holds up today. If it ever drops its going to be a slow process on yalls end so be patient.

I surely didnt expect this area to hold up as well as it did last night.

I have a friend on the low side of Bluff past Ridge to north. Her home was about 2 feet from being taken over when they left at dark. As of this morning they are still dry, amazing.

Another friend, towards the beginning of Ridge on the right, is not so lucky. It is rising into their home.

From my neighborhood FB page

I've just been informed by a good friend and Louisiana National Guard member who is out working that 42 super sacks were placed along Alligator Bayou last night. Inmates at Hunt Correctional filled 100 super sacks overnight that 2 chinooks and 2 blackhawks will drop today, all in Alligator Bayou area.

I'm out... Water was up past my doors. It was now or never. Still has to come up about another foot to get in the house. Several houses are flooded already
