We lost a sitting POTUS to an assassin's bullet that day. I remember the day vividly even though I wasn't quite yet 5 years old. I was in Pre-school at University Presbyterian when we all got sent home early. All the parents were either crying or ashen-faced. We heard the news that JFK was dead on the ride home.

I didn't really understand what the President did (Hell, I still don't), but that it was a really big deal. It hit home Saturday morning the 24th when instead of Mighty Mouse I got a funeral on the tube. I was inconsolable.

The peak of the last ice age was only 5°C colder than today and most of North America was under an ice sheet.

not sure of your 5 degree difference, but I do know that we are STILL recovering from the last ice age - in fact we are lucky to not have started back into the next one by now - maybe the carbon output is actually saving the planet. Easier to live with heat than cold.

I have not studied the details of the 'problem' but what I don't understand is why C02 is the problem when it is a mere fraction of the content of the atmosphere when compared to water vapor - and Water Vapor is 100 times more of a 'hothouse' gas than CO2.

I know it has something to do with the condensation cycle, but am not educated enough on climate science or chemistry to be able to evaluate that.

Don't vote for anyone with a D or an R next to their name on the ballot. It's fairly simple and doesnt take up any of my time.

My solution is to not vote for members of the establishment. I can only vote for myself. If everyone else is happy with the establishment and current direction of this country and votes for a D or an R, that's democracy in action and I've been overruled.

You should still vote independent just to keep the percentage of votes from being 100% establishment. Maybe future generations will be able to knock them out of power in a few decades.

They have only been in power 150 years, surely people won't keep giving them chances to fix what they've broken for another 150

Vote for the ones with the moral fortitude to not take their money.

Like Aaron Sigler who ran for US senate in Louisiana in 2020

Because I trust evidence more than feelings?

You should get away from their ideology and form your own opinions.

Can you imagine how much energy it would take to heat the entire surface of the earth an entire degree Fahrenheit (0.5° Celsius)? Haha that's an astronomical amount of total energy

And we’re talking about an astronomical amount of total energy spread across an astronomically large planet, which totals about a degree of Fahrenheit total. Way to parrot the fearmongering talking point your physics professor at LSU told your class last year though

Listening to JFK and the Unspeakable on the long drives this week. Nutso stuff, it's amazing that it's all out there and known but most people still just roll with the Lee Harvey story.
